INCONTRO CON KEN TURNER 16-18 ottobre 2009 |
Come vi avevamo promesso, prima della fine dell'anno, a soli sette mesi dall'evento con il nostro Alieno preferito, Gito Santana, abbiamo avuto il piacere di ospitare uno dei principali registi della serie, che ha diretto alcuni tra i migliori episodi di UFO. Ken Turner si è rivelato una persona squisita; dal suo arrivo all'aeroporto di Orio al Serio, avvenuto venerdì 16 ottobre, alla sua partenza di domenica 18, ci ha intrattenuti raccontandoci una serie infinita di episodi, curiosità, aneddoti relativi al set della serie, agli attori e a molti dei personaggi che hanno dato vita a UFO. Dopo l'intervista Ken ha partecipato a una piacevole cena, nel corso della quale ha stretto amicizia con i Soci ISOSHADO presenti, con i quali ha accettato di farsi fotografare rilasciando dediche ed autografi. Dopo l'esperienza con i coniugi Anderson, la carriera di Ken si è indirizzata alla realizzazione e produzione di filmati pubblicitari, alcuni dei quali molto noti anche in Italia (primo fra tutti, questo!) che gli sono valsi diversi premi dalla critica (come ad esempio per quest'altro). Di Ken ci resterà il ricordo della sua incredibile simpatia e disponibilità (caratteristiche però comuni a tutti i precedenti ospiti di ISOSHADO), ma soprattutto i suoi racconti relativi alla realizzazione di Mindbender, uno degli episodi più suggestivi di UFO, nonché uno dei nostri preferiti per le numerose sequenze girate all'interno degli Studi di Pinewood che più volte abbiamo visitato. Grazie Ken per le piacevoli ore che hai trascorso con noi; siamo certi che ci rivedremo... in Italia o chissà, magari nel Sud dell'Inghilterra! |

INCONTRO CON KEN TURNER October 16-18, 2009 |
As promised, before the end of the year, only seven months after the meeting with our favourite Alien Gito Santana, we had the pleasure of hosting one of the most important directors of the series, who directed some of the best UFO episodes. Ken Turner is a wonderful person; since his arrival at the airport on Friday Oct. 16 to his departure on Sunday 18, he entertained us with an endless series of facts and anecdotes related to the set of the series, to the actors and to many of the people who gave birth to UFO. Our guest has agreed to release a long and extensive interview for ISOSHADO, which was filmed in high definition, which we hope to edit and make available by year end. The final DVD will be offered to the ISOSHADO Members as soon as possible. After the interview, Ken attended a nice dinner during which he has met a dozen ISOSHADO Members and accepted to pose for pictures and to sign autographs and dedications. After his experience with the Andersons, his career has addressed TV commercials productions, some of them very famous in Italy (first of all this one!) which have allowed him many foreign prizes from the critics (for example for this other ad). Ken has now retired and spends his time playing cricket, fishing and enjoying his numerous friends of the pub. We now treasure our memories of Ken’s amazing sympathy and availability (attitudes which are common to all our former UFO guests), but mainly his recollections about Mindbender, one of the most intriguing UFO episodes, as well as one of our favourites for the various sequences portraying the Pinewood Studios, which we have visited many times. Thank you Ken for the pleasant hours you spent with us; we are sure we’ll meet again... in Italy or, who knows, in Southern England!
